Ginger Gaetz, the wife of Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL), is calling on Americans to boycott the woke new Barbie movie after being disappointed by the film’s method of “feminine empowerment” and a “lack of faith and family.”

Ginger Gaetz Calls For Barbie Boycott

Daily Mail reported that Ginger and Matt attended a launch party for Barbie, which stars Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling and was directed by Greta Gerwig, at the British embassy in Washington D.C on Monday. There, they were seen walking the pink carpet and sipping on pink cocktails, with Matt even wearing a pink suit to the event.

Things seem to have quickly gone downhill for them from there, however, as Ginger made it clear afterwards that they did not enjoy the screening of the film.

“Thinking about watching the Barbie movie? I’d recommend sticking to getting outfit inspiration and skipping the theater,” Ginger began on Twitter. “Here’s why: The Barbie I grew up with was a representation of limitless possibilities, embracing diverse careers and feminine empowerment. The 2023 Barbie movie, unfortunately, neglects to address any notion of faith or family, and tries to normalize the idea that men and women can’t collaborate positively (yuck).”

Ginger proceeded to lay out the few pros she had for the movie, which were “Margot Robbie’s performance,” the “stunning costume design ” and the film’s “amazing soundtrack.”

The cons, however, were as follows:

  • Unfortunate portrayal of big dreams causing anxiety instead of inspiration
  • Disappointingly low T from Ken
  • Unfair treatment of pregnant Barbie Midge

I really wanted to enjoy it, but ended up feeling let down,” Ginger concluded, before adding, “@american_girl, please don’t take notes on this one.”

This last line was a reference to the popular American Girl dolls, which have long been seen as competitors to Barbie dolls.

Ginger later doubled down on her criticism of Gosling’s portrayal of Ken in a follow-up tweet, saying that “He’s got major beta energy in this one.”

Barbie’s Portrayal Of Males

This comes after The Mail’s Sarah Vine wrote in her review of Barbie that “every male character is either an idiot, a bigot or a sad, rather pathetic loser.”

“If the roles were reversed, and a male director made a film about how all women were hysterical, neurotic, gold-digging witches, it would be denounced — quite rightly — as deeply offensive and sexist,” she continued.

“It’s all just a bit of a poorly thought-out soup. Did it make me love Barbie?” Vine concluded. “Of course not. But it did make me feel a little sorry for those who subscribe to this nonsense — and for the young men growing up in a world that tells them they’re worthless.”

Barbie Accused Of Spreading ‘Chinese Propaganda’

Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) previously warned that Barbie is spreading “Chinese propaganda” to American children.

“There’s a scene in Barbie, where there is this map of the world, and it’s drawn like with crayon,” Cruz said earlier this week. “I mean, it’s really a very simple cartoon. And so they have this blockish thing that is called ‘Asia.’ And then they’ve drawn what are called the nine-dashes.”

“This is Chinese communist propaganda in which the Chinese are asserting sovereignty over the entirety of the South China Sea,” he continued. “And they don’t have any right to it under international law, but they are trying to take it away from their neighbors there.”

Barbie is set to open in theaters on Friday, and analysts have already predicted a domestic box office opening weekend of $90 million to $100 million, according to Yahoo News.

Given the many warnings that are coming in about how woke this movie is, however, Hollywood should not be surprised if it learns the hard way once again with this one that when you go woke, you also go broke!
