Jill Duggar continues to spill a whole bunch of tea regarding her infamous father.

The former reality tea, who unleashed a torrent of criticism against the way she was raised in her recent memoir, was a guest this past Monday on Christy Carlson Romano’s “Vulnerable” podcast.

At one point during the interview, the conversation shifted to how Jill’s husband, Derick Dillard, gets along with Jill’s dad, Jim Bob Duggar.

Or, what’s obvious at this point, how the two do NOT get along in any way at all.

“It used to be really great,” Jill said as part of this appearance. “I think Derick trusted my dad and my dad trusted him.”

That was a long time ago, of course.

The Counting On alum added that the couple’s dynamic with Jim Bob changed when “they started having some differences” and they weren’t “falling in line with everything.”

She also said that Derick and Jim Bob had some “really hard conversations,” likely because Jill started using birth control and, in general, she started to realize just how toxic an influence her parents had become.

While thinking back on a recent interaction, Duggar explained that her spouse stood up to the father of 17 and argued it wasn’t alright how he was treating Jill.

“I think my dad got the picture when Derick was telling him, basically like, if you keep contacting her directly, then I will have to file a protective order,” she recalled, adding that her husband is a lawyer.

This isn’t the first time Duggar brought up the restraining order topic.

She said the same thing in September during an interview with Today.

“My dad texted the entire family group text (since we’re still in the group thread) and he was just saying, ‘This is so sad’ and basically threatening that if anybody speaks out against him or my mom that they would be cut out of the inheritance,” Jill told the outlet.

She added:

“My relationship with my dad got pretty toxic to the point where we had to cut off individual contact with him …

“It got to the point where Derick was there to step in and kind of say, ‘Hey, don’t reach out to my wife individually or else I’ll have to file a protective order,’ just because it was so hard for me to handle.”

Despite ALL she has said about her mom and dad, Jill confessed on this new podcast that she and Derick have hope that “things can get better,” elaborating as follows:

“We’re not rushing things with my family. We want to have good relationships. We want there to be better trust.”

Duggar, however, insists that she stands by her decision to distance herself from Jim Bob, Michelle Duggar and some of her brothers and sisters.

“It’s not that you don’t care, but you have to set some boundaries, do what’s good in the moment,” the former TLC personality stated.

“When you are stronger, when you are healthier, when you get to a place where you’re able to do what you need to do, then maybe you can talk about putting yourself back in a situation like that with healthier boundaries occasionally.”
