Kenny Niedermeier and Armando Rubio are back for 90 Day Fiance: The Other Way Season 5. The couples have been residing in La Mision, Mexico with Armando’s 9-year-old daughter Hannah Rubio. They are a blended family, as Kenny has four grown children and a grandson, Bryson.
He had all his children through IFV with a female friend and interestingly, his three daughters are triplets! However, once again the couple’s 26-year age gap is coming into play.
Armando, being 34, brings up exploring IVF for what would be the fifth time for Kenny. This leaves Kenny overwhelmed, to say the least. The two seem, to be at a crossroads the season about just what to do when it comes to expanding their family.
90 Day Fiance: Armando Rubio Pushes for IVF
Armando and Kenny have discussed the topic of more children from the beginning of their journey. They even went so far as visiting an adoption agency in 90 Day Fiance: The Other Way in Season 3.
“Adoption is something we’ve been talking on and off about,” Armando explains in a confessional. “Kenny was hesitant because of his age, but I’ve been thinking a lot about it after visiting my family. I have a large extended family and I’ve always wanted more kids.”
Most recently Armando said that now he’d like to consider IVF over adoption. Specifically, he said he wants the child’s biological father to be Kenny rather than himself. “I can’t say that it’d be more special, but it would in some ways,” the hopeful father says. “I really hadn’t mentioned in vitro to Kenny because of his age. I want a part of Kenny. Hannah is mine, she has my blood.”
It seems that Armando is serious and wants to take the next steps to make this happen. While Kenny, on the other hand, is more focused on enjoying his life abroad. We see him wearing a snazzy new costume and excitedly packing for their trial move to Mexico City.
Baby Bombshell Frazzles Kenny Niedermeier on The Other Way
In the season opener, Armando gets straight to the point with his husband about his recent thoughts on their family. “Previously I’ve mentioned I wanted to adopt a child closer to Hannah’s age, but the more I think about it, I kind of like the idea of a baby.” 60-year-old Kenny has a panicked reaction to this.
It makes sense that this would be a lot to take on since his potential child would be younger than the grandchild he has from daughter, Madison. The grandfather explains, “I know I’ve been dragging it I guess because sometimes reality sinks in,” Kenny says. “And the reality is my age.”
Though this has been discussed by the pair for years, Armando has decided that he wants to move forward with a plan of action very soon. “A lot about what we’ve talked about is time and Kenny’s age,” he notes. “Why aren’t we getting this done now, then? If that’s the issue, if that’s what we’re scared about — Kenny growing older — than why aren’t we getting this done now?”
But while Armando is adamant on how he wants to proceed, Kenny reminisces on the past. “I honestly knew — not even thought — I knew I was done having kids,” he tells the cameras. “You know, I raised four children, primarily on my own. And I loved every second of it, but I was done.” The two clearly are not on the same page just yet.
A 90 Day Fiance Fellow Cast Member Surrogate?
With IVF now in the table as a serious option this leaves fans with many new questions. Armando is willing to do a trial move to Mexico City, where Kenny wants to live. Kenny explains, “With surrogacy, we’re not going to find it here…There’s nothing here. And so that’s a good reason to go and to do this trial.”
Kenny is 60. He is prolly not the age to be having any additional kids…I am with Kenny here. He raised his kids already. Armando is out of his mind. #90dayfiance #90dayfiancetheotherway

He continues, “We are going to go to the clinics and we’re going to check it out to see if it’s right for us.” This could possibly be a compromise for the 90 Day Fiance stars since Armando would prefer to stay where they are now. Although Kenny argued that a baby is far more life-changing than a move.
Once they are closer to the technology, the couple could need a surrogate. Kenny and Armando have yet to decide whether they want to hire a surrogate, but if they will, they already have someone willing to do it.
They also even had and offer from fellow 90 Day Fiance cast mate Brittany Banks. Kenny and Brittany have an online banter on social media and kid around about the idea. Last year, Armando referred to Britany as his “Baby Mama” on his Insta story [in jest] and she addressed him as her “baby daddy.” Will there be a bundle of joy in the future for them?
