PLDT roared to a four-game winning run in the PVL All-Filipino Conference after blanking Akari 25-17, 25-20, 25-19 on Tuesday at PhilSports Arena.
Coming off a short Holy week break, the High Speed Hitters showed no signs of slowing down, especially Majoy Baron who topped her best performance from last game against Farm Fresh with 13 points on eight attacks, three aces and two blocks.
“Siguro nakukuha ko na yung galaw na maayos and nakaka-adjust na ako sa system ni coach Rald [Ricafort] and nage-enjoy lang ako sa game,” Baron said. “Mas kumpiyansa na ako ngayon.”

PLDT’s go-to guy Savannah Davison scattered 11 points mostly from attacks to help the High Speed Hitters tie defending champion Creamline at 6-1 record.
With a 7-all deadlock in the decider, PLDT launched a six point run with and had no problems finding holes in the Chargers’ floor.
Erika Raagas, who contributed eight points along with Grethcel Soltones, went for a kill that went long, giving PLDT an 18-13 lead.

Rosel Baliton and Raagas tried to close the gap for Akari in the stretch, 22-19, but the High Speed Hitters went to Jules Samonte who scored through the block before Davison blocked Dindin Santiago Manabat, who paced the Chargers with nine points.
Erika Santos chipped in nine points including the game-winning attack down the line to demote Akari to a 2-5 standing.
“Yung hiningi kong sacrifice sa kanila na i-shorten yung break, imbis na magpahinga kami ng matagal,” Ricafort said. “Alam namin na capable si Akari so na-shorten [yung break] balik kami agad ng Saturday, sorry Lord.”
“Pero para ma-maximize namin yung 3-days [preparation] before going into this game.”
PLDT can extend its win run when it meets Strong Group on April 9 before its grueling matchups against Chery Tiggo, Cignal and the Cool Smashers.
