Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that the bills brought in place of the three criminal laws show the Narendra Modi government’s commitment to eradicating the mentality of slavery and liberating from colonial laws. According to Shah, for the first time after independence, all three laws related to the criminal justice system will be humanized. Home Minister Shah also said in the Lok Sabha that in the new laws, priority has been given to laws affecting women and children, followed by laws related to human rights and laws related to the security of the country.
